Norris won the sprint at the Brazilian Grand Prix and won two points from Verstappen in the championship

McLaren driver Lando Norris won the sprint at the 21st stage of the Formula 1 championship – the Brazilian Grand Prix, which takes place in Sao Paulo.

Another McLaren driver Oscar Piastri finished second, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) finished third.

Shortly before the finish of the sprint, a virtual safety car was announced after the retirement of Nico Hulkenberg (Haas), who stopped the car not far from the track in one of the turns. Before this, the leading Piastri passed Norris into first place.

On the last lap a restart was announced. Verstappen, who had previously passed Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) in the dispute for third position, fought with Piastri, but could not get ahead of the Australian.

Norris, who is second in the drivers’ standings, is two points clear of championship leader Verstappen. The McLaren driver now has 323 points, while the three-time champion has 368.

Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 21:30 Moscow time. The race will take place on Sunday.
