Williams driver Alexander Albon will miss the Brazilian Grand Prix because his car was not repaired after an accident in qualifying. This was reported by the press service of the British team.

Formula 1 qualifying in Sao Paulo was previously postponed from Saturday to Sunday and was held in rainy conditions. Albon crashed his car midway through the third segment but managed to qualify in seventh position. Since there were only a few hours left from the moment of the accident until the start of the race, the team’s mechanics did not have time to repair serious damage to the car. At the same time, Albon’s partner, Argentinean Franco Colapinto, who had an accident in the first segment of qualifying, will be able to go to the start.

Spanish Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, who crashed his car in the second segment, will start the race from the pit lane due to the replacement of several components of the power plant.

Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix race will begin at 18:30 Moscow time.
