Verstappen equals Vettel and Prost in the number of championship titles in Formula 1
Dutch driver Max Verstappen has overtaken Frenchman Alain Prost and German Sebastian Vettel in the number of championship titles in Formula 1.
On Saturday, the 27-year-old Red Bull driver finished fifth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and became the 2024 season champion ahead of schedule.
Verstappen won the championship for the fourth time in a row, with Prost (1985, 1986, 1989, 1993) and Vettel (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) also winning four times each. Briton Lewis Hamilton and German Michael Schumacher became champions seven times each, and Argentinean Juan Manuel Fangio won five times.
