Verstappen spoke about a fourth championship title in Formula 1
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen commented on the fourth consecutive championship title in Formula 1, and also stated that he plans to add to his collection of trophies next season.
Verstappen took fifth place at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday and became the champion of the 2024 season ahead of schedule. The Dutch rider won the title for the fourth time in a row.
– It was a long season, of course, we started it amazing – almost at cruising speed, but then we had a difficult period. But we stuck together as a team. We kept working on improvements and we got there. I am incredibly proud of everyone and what they have done for me.
To stand here as a four-time world champion is, of course, something I never thought possible. Yes, at the moment I just feel relieved, but also very proud. It was a very difficult season, I had to stay calm.
I think in some ways I still prefer the way last season went; I really enjoyed it, but I think there are definitely lessons in this season that I’m very proud of. We got through it as a team as well, so in a way that makes it a special and great season as well.
What can I tell the team? We’ve been through a lot together, and all these heights that we’re reaching right now, it’s very important to do it with this whole group of people. They always give their all to give me the car to fight for the title.
If we talk about next season, I think it will be a real battle between many cars. But yes I’m hungry [до побед]Certainly. “I will enjoy it, but there are still two races in which I want to perform well, we will take a short break and then try again next year,” Motorsport quoted Verstappen as saying.
In terms of the number of titles in Formula 1, 27-year-old Verstappen is equal to Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel. Ahead are Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher (7 each) and Juan Manuel Fangio (5).
