Lewis Hamilton appeared on the red carpet Met Gala in a dress, which was worked on for almost six months
The seven -time world champion in the Formula -1 race class Lewis Hamilton visited the annual Met Gala 2025 event, appearing on a red carpet in an unusual suit.
Met Gala is an annual fundraising event in favor of the Institute of Costume Metro Museum in New York.
The racer stylist Eric McCnil told Vogue that the athlete’s outfit worked for five months, and the starting point for creating a costume was a cultural movement in the United States in the 1920s-30s “Harlemsky Renaissance”, which was headed by leading African American writers and artists. Also, stylists turned to the paintings of Gerard Hendricks, which depict black models in white clothes on a white background.
Hamilton’s belt was decorated with Kauri shells – a protective talisman in African culture, and earrings and brooches in the form of a baobab contain grenades, referring to the date of birth of the rider. Cufflinks in the form of African Margarita are a metaphor of the African heritage.
Hamilton first visited Met Gala in 2015. In recent years, he pays special attention to historical personalities.
