Safnauer plans to create a new team “Formula 1”

Former team manager American engineer Iskmar Safnauer said he plans to create a formula 1 team, F1i reports.

In the current season, Formula 1 is attended by 10 teams. In the season -2026 there will be 11 of them: the entry of the American “Cadillac” into the series has already been announced.

– Over the 28 years of my work in F1 there were 12 teams, and before my arrival, I signed a contract with BAR in the 97th and joined the team in the 98th year – there were even more when the pre -lists were held. So I think that for the 12th team there is a place. And if another team will still appear, I want to be ready to become a successful contender for the place. I work on this. In Formula 1, there is definitely enough space for 12 teams. The 11th teams were given to the “Cadillac” place. At the same time, as far as I know, five applications were submitted to this place, and the FIA ​​(the International Automobile Federation), and then Formula 1, chose the application of Cadillac. So I think that when they open a tender on the 12th team, there will be more applicants than one. Therefore, I want to be sure that my application will be the best among those that will be submitted, – quotes the words of Safnauer F1i.
