The stewards of the Grand Prix of Canada rejected the Red Bull protest for Russell
The winner of the Sunday Grand Prix of Canada George Russell did not receive penalties and retained first place after consideration of protests, reports RacingNews365.
After the race, the Red Bull team protested for Russell’s actions in two moments of the race. The head of the “Bykov” Christian Horner said that, in his opinion, Russell deliberately slowed down while being on the road of security car, creating a hindrance and a threat of a fine of the Red Bull pilot Max Fertappen. Overflowing security machine is prohibited. Horner also stated that Russell greatly exceeded the permissible distance behind the security machine, creating his own advantage.
