The Formula -1 team “Red Bull” officially announced that Christian Horner was leaving the team after 20 years of work.
The Briton took the post of head of Red Bull in 2005. In July of this year, it became known that the specialist was dismissed, and Laurent Mekis replaced him as a position. At the same time, Horner’s contract, designed until 2030, was still valid. Now, the parties regulated all the contradictions and terminated the agreement.
According to Planetf1, a compromise was reached by the amount of compensation to Horner, which will be about $ 100 million. An agreement was also reached on the timing of the return of a 51 -year functionary for another job: Horner cannot work at Formula 1 for several months and can potentially sign a contract with another company no earlier than the summer of 2026.
The official reason for the dismissal of a specialist is not called, however, the media refer to the “fundamental contradictions” of Horner with the leadership of the Red Bull company on the control of the team.
During the stay of Horner as the head of the Red Bull, the Cup of designers, Max Bulls and Sebastian Vettel pilots, won the Formula -1 champions (four titles), won six times.
