Verstappen won qualifying for the US Grand Prix, Norris was second, Piastri was sixth

Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the qualifying round for the US Formula 1 Grand Prix.

In the third segment, he showed a result of 1 minute 32.510 seconds. However, he did not have time to go on his final attempt.

The second was the Briton Lando Norris (McLaren, 0.291 seconds behind), the third was the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari, +0.297).

Championship leader Oscar Piastri (McLaren) took sixth place.

Earlier, a sprint race was held in Austin. Verstappen became its winner; the McLaren pilots, taking first and second places in the individual standings, collided in the first turn and did not get into the points. In the individual competition, the Dutchman has 281 points, Norris has 314, and Piastri has 336.

The race will take place on Sunday and start at 22:00 Moscow time.
