“I could have killed them!” A Formula 1 driver almost hit two marshals at the Mexican Grand Prix
New Zealand Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson nearly hit two marshals during a Formula 1 race in Mexico.
The incident occurred after Lawson returned to the track from a forced pit stop. In the first set of turns, track staff ran across the road in front of his car, and the New Zealander had to slow down a little so as not to hit the marshals. Lawson was outraged by what was happening over the team radio.
– God, did you see this?! What is this anyway? Guys, I could have killed them! – the racer exclaimed during the radio exchange.
Lawson retired on the fifth lap of the Mexican Grand Prix due to technical problems. The winner of the race was the British McLaren driver Lando Norris, who regained the lead in the championship.
The next stage of the championship will take place on November 7–9 in Brazil.
