Formula 1 champion Button announced his retirement from his professional career
The 2009 Formula 1 world champion, Briton Jenson Button, announced that he will retire from racing in November.
The Eight Hours of Bahrain on November 8 will be the final one in the professional career of 45-year-old Button, who has been competing in endurance racing in recent years.
— This will be my last race. I’ve always liked Bahrain. I think it’s an interesting track and I’m going to enjoy it as much as possible because this is the end of my professional racing career.
My children are four and six years old, and you go away for a week and miss so much, you can’t get that time back. “I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot over the last couple of years, and that was okay because I knew it was coming, but I’m not prepared to do it again for another season,” Button was quoted as saying by the BBC.
The British driver won the Formula 1 championship with the Brown team in 2009. He took part in 306 stages of the Royal Race and won 15 victories.
