Mercedes Formula 1 team boss Toto Wolff is in advanced negotiations to sell part of his 33% stake in the team, Sportico reports.

According to preliminary estimates, the value of the team is 6 billion US dollars.

If an agreement is reached, the sale would be a record for a Formula 1 team and would surpass the estimated $4.7 billion for which McLaren’s stake was sold in October 2025.

Wolff is expected to remain Mercedes CEO and team principal.

The 53-year-old Austrian was previously an investor in the Williams racing team before joining Mercedes in 2013.
