Lando Norris is the first Formula 1 champion from McLaren since 2008
British driver Lando Norris became the first world champion in the Formula 1 car class since 2008 from the McLaren team.
On Sunday, 26-year-old Norris took third place in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race and won the championship for the first time in his career.
The last Formula 1 champion from McLaren was Lewis Hamilton, who won in 2008. Then Jenson Button (Brown), Sebastian Vettel (4 times; Red Bull), Hamilton (6 times; Mercedes), Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) and Max Verstappen (4 times; Red Bull) became champions.
