The seven-time Formula 1 champion admitted that he was afraid to drive a car
Seven-time Formula One champion and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton spoke to Vanity Fair about his fear of driving on public roads.
– When I get behind the wheel of a regular car and drive out onto the road, I start to panic and get nervous. I am under stress. Now I’m driving and for me it’s stressful. This road is crazy. There is so much going on here that you need to be extremely careful.
People say to me: “Dude! You are driving at 200 kilometers per hour!” But for me it’s normal. I think we are all wired differently,” said Hamilton, 37.
Hamilton made his Formula 1 debut in 2007. This season, the Briton takes 6th place in the standings of pilots after 13 stages of the championship.
