Formula 1 fans are discussing the decision of the organization to no longer hold races under its auspices in Russia through social networks.
“Money is important to us, but it’s not the only thing we pay attention to. If only revenues were taken into account, the race calendar would look different. I always say, “Never say never.” But in this case, I promise that we will no longer conduct any negotiations with the organizers of the Russian Grand Prix. There will be no more racing,” Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said earlier.
The fans have criticized the management of Formula 1, accusing them of double standards.
“Give them 30 million and they will go there tomorrow,” wrote one of the fans.
“But you are racing in the states that invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and destroyed Libya with their NATO allies,” another user noted.
— But will they race in China? wrote another fan, focusing on the genocide of Uyghur Muslims in China.
In February, after meetings between Formula 1 leaders, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and team representatives, it was decided not to hold the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi, which was supposed to take place September 23-25, due to the situation in Ukraine.
