Spanish midfielder Rodri Hernandez is leaving Manchester City to join FC Barcelona on a four-year contract after the two clubs agreed a transfer fee.
FC Barcelona secured the agreement after submitting a third offer to Manchester City worth 65 million euros in fixed fees plus add-ons. The total value of the deal could exceed 70 million euros following constant and fluid negotiations between the two clubs that have now concluded.

The move marks a return to Spanish football for the Madrid-born midfielder, who won the prestigious Ballon d'Or award while playing in England. Rodri will wear the blue and red of Barcelona for the next four seasons as he begins a new chapter in his career.
Transfer Details and Player Profile
Rodri is widely viewed as an atypical figure in elite professional football. Unlike many of his peers, he does not maintain social media accounts, has no tattoos, and has frequently been seen travelling on budget airlines such as Ryanair.
The midfielder has often spoken with affection about his late grandparents, who played a central role in his upbringing in Madrid. He recalled how they used to take him to the cinema on the Gran Via in central Madrid whenever a new Harry Potter film was released.
Rodri said he was among those who would go to watch each installment a week after its premiere. He explained that those cinema trips with his grandparents, who have since passed away, evoked nostalgia and fond memories of a simpler period in his life.
Connection to the Harry Potter Saga
Among the films in the franchise, the second installment held a special place for him. Having lived in England, the homeland of the Harry Potter universe, Rodri stated with conviction that he would belong to Gryffindor house without any doubt, while firmly rejecting any association with Slytherin.
The film franchise, based on the fantasy novels by J.K. Rowling, spans eight movies following the adventures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. The story begins when Harry discovers at age eleven that he is a wizard invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, despite opposition from his aunt and uncle.
Recognised instantly by the lightning-shaped scar left when the dark wizard Voldemort killed his parents, Harry and his friends grow up over eight films while battling evil forces. Although the literary series eventually became a global commercial phenomenon, it initially struggled as a commercial failure before achieving worldwide success.
With negotiations between Manchester City and FC Barcelona finalized, the midfielder is now preparing to make the transition back to Spanish football after several successful years in England.
