Southampton is seeking a permanent transfer for Manchester United full-back Jaydan Kamason before the transfer window closes on September 1, according to Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team.

The Championship club wants to secure the 19-year-old England youth international right-back on a permanent deal. Kamason is also attracting interest from several teams seeking a loan move, including Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City, and Sheffield Wednesday, alongside enquiries from clubs abroad.

Kamason has earned praise at Old Trafford after standing out during Manchester United's opening pre-season matches, particularly during a 5-0 victory against Rosenborg. He joined United at age 10 through the Emerging Talent Programme while playing for grassroots team Stockport Vikings, becoming the first player from that programme to sign scholarship forms with the club.

Manchester United has not yet decided on final development plans for Kamason, but the young defender looks set to remain with Michael Carrick's squad until January. In a separate deal, United goalkeeper Radek Vitek has completed a permanent move to Middlesbrough in a transfer valued at up to £14m.

Matteo Ruggeri move to Aston Villa

Aston Villa has agreed a deal to sign Italian left-back Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid for £16m plus add-ons. The transfer of the 24-year-old defender will help Atletico generate funds to make an official offer for Tottenham Hotspur captain Cristian Romero.

Barcelona is also considering a move for Argentine centre-back Romero. However, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone hopes to convince his compatriot to join him in Spain if the two parties can agree on contract terms.

Facundo Buonanotte and Calum Scanlon loan deals

Brighton midfielder Facundo Buonanotte has completed a season-long loan move to Spanish La Liga side Elche. The 21-year-old spent last season split across two different Premier League clubs, spending the first half of the campaign with Chelsea before moving to Leeds for the second half.

Sheffield Wednesday is making a concerted effort to sign Liverpool left-back Calum Scanlon on loan. The 21-year-old England U20 international impressed during Liverpool's pre-season fixtures after spending the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City, who are also keen to bring him back.

League One side Sheffield Wednesday, who face Bolton in the Carabao Cup today, are competing against a number of interested clubs to bring Scanlon to Hillsborough.
