Unstoppable Kyrgios – Kokkinakis passed to the ’16’ of doubles at the US Open
Nick Kyrgios and Thanasis Kokkinakis beat Nishioka/Goransson in men’s doubles at the US Open to advance to the US Open Round of 16 where they meet Lloyd Glasspool and Harry Heliovaara.
Nick Kyrgios and Thanasis Kokkinakis moved into the top 16 in doubles at the US Open after their second win in New York on Saturday (4/9).
The Australian duo, who faced off in the 1st round of singles with Kyrgios victorious, edged out Yoshihito Nishioka and Andre Goransson 6-4, 7-6 (3) to earn a berth in the 3rd round of the last major of the year.
The winner of the Australian Open and table no. 8 meets the table no. 11, Lloyd Glasspool and Harry Heliovaara to qualify for the quarterfinals of the top event.
Kyrgios (No. 25) will fight the 4th individual round on Sunday (September 4th) and meet Daniil Medvedev (No. 1) in the big derby of the “16” stage.
