Medvedev drops to fourth in ATP rankings after US Open
The first racket of the world, Russian Daniil Medvedev, will leave the top 3 rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) after the US Open.
The tennis player has held the first position continuously since June 13, 2022. At the end of the US Open, the 26-year-old Russian will pass forward the Norwegian Kasper Ruud and the Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaras.
Medvedev ended his Grand Slam performance after losing to Australia’s Nick Kirios in the fourth round. The Russian was unable to defend last year’s tournament title and lost points. Nadal also lost in the 1/8 finals, Alcaraz and Ruud continue to fight.
