Francis Tiafoe had a terrible performance, defeating Rafael Nadal 3-1 and leaving him out of the US Open.

After Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Nadal (No. 3) was eliminated at the US Open. The cause of the surprise this time was Francis Tiafoe, who beat the legendary Spaniard 3-1.

The world No. 26 put on an incredible performance, leaving Rafa out of the game. This development could lead to the conquest of world No. 1 by either Alkarath or Rude.

From the beginning of the match, Tiafoe Nadal showed that he would be a difficult obstacle. The American tennis player, without giving Rafa a single break point, used one of the two he created to break the Spaniard’s serve and level the set at 1-0, 6-4.

In the second set we had the perfect balance, both tennis players easily held their serves until the ninth and tenth game. In the ninth game, Tiafoe held at love for Rafa, with the Spaniard earning a break in the next game to end the set 6-4.

The third set was carbon with the first. Tiafoe again didn’t give Nadal the right to threaten him on serve, just like in the first set, so he broke in the seventh game in the third set to go 6-4 to make it 2-1.

In the fourth set we had a terrible fight. It was Nadal who broke first to take a 3-1 lead but Tiafoe clinched the next three and grabbed two breaks to take a 4-3 lead. In the very next game, the Spaniard pressed and tried to get the break back, but the world number 26. held out and made it 5:3.

In the final game, which turned out to be the game of the game, Tiafou’s psychology was on point and he managed another break to 6-3 and of course a 3-1 set win.
