US Open: Ruud is KO’d and Berretini is kicked out
Casper Ruud won 3-0 sets against Matteo Berretini, reached the quarterfinals of the US Open and kept the dream of world number one ranking alive.
With a magical performance, Kasper Ruud defeated Matteo Berretini in straight sets in the first derby of the quarterfinals and advanced to the “4” best of the US Open to keep the dream of securing the world No. 1 ranking alive.
Now the Norwegian is two wins away from winning the first Grand Slam of his career and climbing to the top of the ATP table right after the New York Major.

After two hours and 37 minutes of play, the 23-year-old and No. 5 on the board prevailed against the No. 14 tennis player in the world 6-1, 6-4, 7-6(4) and reached the 2nd Grand Slam semifinal of his career.
There he expects to face off against one of Nick Kyrgios and Karen Khachanov, who are due to take on Arthur Ashe in the early hours of Wednesday (9/7).
