SAVCHUK: “I am disappointed that the Russians are allowed to play at the US Open”
Former Ukrainian tennis player and captain of the Ukrainian national team in the Billie Jean King Cup Olga Savcuk Disappointed that tennis players from Russia and Belarus were allowed to participate in the US Open tennis championship.
“I try not to think about that anymore while watching a match. Because it makes me very, very sad and causes a lot of negative emotions. I understand that it is difficult to go on living thinking about it all the time. We cannot change the decisions we have not made, we cannot control them.
I generally feel that people are tired of hearing about war. This is how things are slowly changing and I feel like I have to adapt. And it’s terrible because we can’t stand it. Nothing has changed for us. It got worse. More destruction, more loss.
I’m so sorry that they [теннисистам из рф и рб] allowed to play [на US Open]. But what kills me more is that Russians continue to live their happy lives and write about it.”
