In the first semifinal on Friday (10:00pm – Eurosport) Kasper Rudd will take on Karen Khachanov in only their second meeting on the tour following the Norwegian’s victory at the 2020 Rome Masters (clay).
Rudd, who has high hopes of becoming the new world No. 1 on Monday, is the favorite to win despite Khachanov having more weapons on the hard courts.
In Wednesday’s second semi-final (02:00 – Eurosport), Carlos Alcarat must overcome the remnants of his epic quarter-final against Yannick Sinner and meets the amazing Francis Tiafoe, who looks capable of anything after beating Nadal in the 4th.
The 24-year-old American, who has already secured his entry into the top 20, had won the only time on Barcelona soil in 2021 when he faced Alcarath on the tour.
