Canada’s Rebecca Marino got her WTA Tour campaign off to a flying start in Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday.

Marino, who is the No. 8 seed in this 250-caliber contest, needed just 65 minutes to dismiss Croatia’s Jana Fett in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.

The quality of the Canadian player’s serve helped her put this game away as she served eight aces.

At 31, Marino is playing great tennis these days, having recently advanced to the third round of the US Open.

Since August, he has reached the quarterfinals of three different tournaments, in Washington, Granby and Chennai.

In her next match in Seoul, the world number 81 will face the winner of the duel between France’s Chloé Paquet and Andorra’s Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva.

Marino’s compatriot Eugenie Bouchard will also look to reach the 8th final, facing Germany’s Tatjana Maria, who is seeded 7th, later that evening (3:15 a.m. Quebec time).
