“I don’t want to talk to these people.” The strange hysteria of the former Russian tennis player
Daria Saville suddenly began to divide people into good and bad. And started a “black list”.
Since September 19, the women’s tennis tournament under the auspices of the WTA has been held in Tokyo. Of the Russian athletes, Veronika Kudermetova and Lyudmila Samsonova take part in the competition. However, among the participants, fans could notice another familiar name: Daria Savill, who previously played for Russia and had the surname Gavrilova, performed under the flag of Australia at the tournament.
Already in the first round, Daria lost to the former first racket of the world, Naomi Osaka. Saville, due to an injury, refused to continue the fight with a score of 1:0 in favor of her opponent, and further medical examination revealed a cruciate ligament rupture in her.
However, Daria was noted in the news reports not only because of her injury: after the departure, the athlete expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of support from her colleagues.
Emotions from an unfortunate injury led to a strange hysteria in social networks!
And who is it?
Daria Gavrilova is a multiple champion of major tournaments in juniors, representing Russia until 2015. Among the main achievements are the victory at the WTA tournament in singles and two triumphs at the junior Grand Slam.
For some time, Daria was the first racket of the world among juniors, and in Russia she was considered one of the most promising tennis players. But in 2015, due to funding problems, Gavrilova decided to move to Australia and obtain the citizenship of this country.
In the future, Daria no longer achieved high sports results, including due to frequent injuries. In early 2022, the athlete married Australian tennis player Luke Saville and took his last name.
Most sports fans learned about Daria this spring, but not for sports reasons: after the worsening situation in Ukraine, the tennis player admitted on social networks that she was “ashamed to say that she is Russian.” However, after some time, Daria deleted her posts, explaining this by the persecution that had begun against her.
New tantrum
After her exit from the WTA competition, Saville burst into new emotional conclusions:
Thanks to everyone who wrote to me. It is very important for me. At the same time, I blacklist colleagues who saw me on crutches in Tokyo but didn’t say a single word to me. Why is it so hard to be a good person? It is very sad. To be honest, because of this, I don’t even want to return to the tour after recovery. I don’t want to deal with these people again. Thanks to those who took a second to say something to me. You are on the list of good people. I love you,” Daria wrote on social networks.
In connection with the early departure from the prestigious tournament and a serious injury, the emotions of the athlete are understandable and logical: at such moments, a person more than ever wants warm words of support. However, public emotions and indignation at the behavior of colleagues who did not consider it necessary to express support look as strange as possible.
Some athletes do not attach much importance to social networks, not considering them as a platform for expressing their emotions and opinions, but they can still be blacklisted by Daria Saville, who decided to go through all the “silent ones” at once and divide people into good and bad.
