The Laver Cup is a team competition where the best tennis players in Europe are pitted against the best from the “Rest of the World” and the first team to add 13 points wins.
How do you get these points? Three singles matches and one doubles match are played each day, with the best of three sets and the final contested as a 10-point tiebreak. Wins on Friday are worth one point, Saturday two and Sunday threewhich ensures that no team can become champions before the last day.
The European team has claimed victory in all four editions of the Laver Cup. In 2017 he won 15-9 in Prague (Czech Republic), in 2018 he won 13-8 in Chicago (United States), in 2019 he won 13-11 in Geneva (Switzerland) and in 2021 he won 14-1 in Boston. (USA).
