Kamelzon believes that Russian tennis players are being “pressed down” by the difficult situation in the world
Russian tennis players are experiencing difficulties due to the fact that they have to play in tournaments under the auspices of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in a neutral status, said the honored coach of Russia Vladimir Kamelzon.
Russian and Belarusian tennis players participate in international tournaments under a neutral flag and without an anthem. Russians and Belarusians were not admitted to Wimbledon.
– At the US Open, Russian athletes had only a surname – they had neither an anthem nor a flag of the country. All tennis players live a normal life, but the current difficult situation is pressing down on Russians and Belarusians, Kamelzon told the Championship.
