Show of power by Tsitsipas against Schwarzman in the Laver Cup singles
Stefanos Tsitsipas celebrated his third career Laver Cup singles victory, defeating Diego Schwartzman in the 2nd time game of the 1st day of competition in London.
The Greek champions lost just three matches against the diminutive Argentine and world No. 17 tennis player, and won with them 6-2, 6-1after just 77 minutes of play and doubling Team Europe’s wins, putting them 2-0 in the series against Team World.
Tsitsipas was outstanding, committing just six unforced errors throughout the game, winning 33/46 points on serve and converting 5/7 break point chances to round out his debut at this year’s O2 Arena Showcase tournament.

Earlier, Casper Rood had beaten Jack Shock in the super tiebreaker and opened the scoring for Team Europe.
The Norwegian and No. 2 tennis player in the world won against the experienced American after 109 minutes of play 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 and scored his 2nd career Laver Cup win in his 2nd overall appearance.
It is worth mentioning that Rude is the best tennis player of this year’s event according to the ATP world rankings.
