Djokovic returns to ATP, his tie in Tel Aviv
Novak Djokovic had a bye from the 1st round of the Tel Aviv Open and will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Thiago Monteiro and Pablo Andujar in the 2nd.
Novak Djokovic (No.7) returns to the ATP Tour by participating in the 1st edition of the Tel Aviv Open since 1996.
The Serb and No. 1 board had a bye from the 1st round and will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Thiago Monteiro and Pablo Andujar in the 2nd.
Logically, a possible opponent in the quarterfinals will be Dutchman Talon Hrikspoor, while Djokovic is expected to face Diego Schwartzman and Aslan Karachev in the semifinals.
In the table below, the competition is expected to be tougher as Marin Cilic is 2nd while with him are Dominic Thiem, Lalso Jere, Sebastian Korda and Maxim Cressi.
Djokovic will also compete in doubles with his good friend from Israel, Jonathan Ehrlich, who will face Dutchmen Sander Arends and Bart Stevens in the 1st round.
The Tel Aviv Open takes place between September 26th and October 2nd.
