Sakkari climbed to number 7 in the world rankings
Maria Sakkari Sakkari was the winner of the week as she climbed to 7th in the WTA World Rankings.
After her appearance at the Australian Open, Maria Sakkari made it into the WTA world rankings this week. Specifically, the Greek tennis player rose from 8th place to 7th place.
Iga Swiodek fell back four whole places, allowing Pliskova, Badosa, Muguruta and of course Sakkari to make up a place.
The Greek has amassed 4,071 points and is now chasing Mougouroutha, who has 4,195.
The situation at the top remains unchanged. Ashley Barty, who won her home country’s Major, sits in first place followed by Sampalenka while Kreitsikova closes the trio.
