Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina responded to the criticism of State Duma deputy Roman Teryushkov about conferring the title of Honored Master of Sports of the country on her.
The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation awarded Kasatkina the corresponding title on Monday. On Wednesday, Teryushkov on the air of the program “There is a theme!” on Match TV, he announced that he intended to apply to the prosecutor’s office in order to obtain the cancellation of the order to award Kasatkina the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia in connection with her statements about a possible change of citizenship.
“It’s just that you don’t have a (ZMS) badge, so you’re mad,” the 25-year-old tennis player wrote on the social network.
Kasatkina is ranked 11th in the WTA rankings. This year she reached the semi-finals of Roland Garros.
