Novak Djokovic, who feels young and ready to compete with the new generation for the most important titles on the tour, does not think about retiring in the near future.

The 21-time Grand Slam champion was unable to help Team Europe following Roger Federer’s retirement at the Laver Cup 2022, as he was beaten by Felix Ozer Aliassim on Sunday (25/09) and Francis Tiafoe conceded the crucial point shortly afterwards and the Team World Trophy with an epic excitement over Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Federer decided to hang up his racquet at the age of 41, sending the tennis world and its millions of fans into grief. The word retirement does not come to Novak Djokovic’s mind at the moment.

“To be honest, I don’t feel old enough to retire. My body is still strong and I hear well. That’s the key, I think, when you’re over 35.” said “Nole”, who, unlike his one year older Rafael Nadal, has no particular injury problems.

Instead, the Spaniard admitted this weekend that he had put a lot of thought into his retirement before the start of this year and had faced a number of issues.

“I don’t play as much as in previous years. I want to get my best form in the top tournaments, which are the Grand Slams and some Masters. It motivates and inspires me to play my best tennis I really want to continue like this I don’t see an end to my career in sight.

I want to play as long as possible and feel good about playing the younger opponents in the Grand Slams.” added the 35-year-old Serb.
