Sakkari: Her match against Potapova in St. Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon (February 8th).
Maria Sakkari will enter the battle of the St. Petersburg tournament on Tuesday afternoon (not before 7.30 p.m.) against Potapova.
Russia’s world No. 77 Anastasia Potapova is Maria Sakkari’s first opponent in the 500v500 tournament in St. Petersburg, the game of which will take place on Tuesday afternoon (02/08, not before 19:30).
The No. 1 on the board meets the 20-year-old Russian for the 3rd time, with the two players sharing wins for now after Potapova prevailed in the 1st round of qualifying at the 2017 Miami tournament and Sakkari under the rematch in the 1st round of Abu Dhabi.
If she manages to win, she will meet Alexandrova, as the Russian and No. 43 in the world prevailed 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 against Italy (No. 30) Camila Georgi.
The last time Alexandrova and Sakkari faced each other on the same court was again in indoor tournaments and again on Russian soil and in particular in the semifinals of the Moscow tournament where Sakkari had gone in the 5th game of the 1st set and while the Russian was ahead with 4-1
