(Seoul) Canadian Denis Shapovalov advanced to the Korea Open tennis final with a 7-5, 6-4 win over American Jenson Brooksby on Saturday.

Seeded fourth in the tournament, Shapovalov had six aces and four breaks in five opportunities. He also won 73% of the points after lodging his first service ball in play.

The 23-year-old Ontarian qualified for the semi-finals with a two-set victory over Radu Albot.

For his part, Brooksby, seeded eighth, had taken advantage of the withdrawal of Briton Cameron Norrie to find Shapovalov in the semi-finals.
