At about 4:00 p.m. the semifinals of Sakkari in Parma against Kovinic
Maria Sakkari meets Danka Kovinic of Montenegro in the Parma semifinals. The game is expected to kick off on Friday (September 30th) at around 4:00 p.m.
Maria Sakkari (No. 7) is preparing for her 5th semi-final of the season and the first since last June (Berlin) against No. 78 Montenegro Danka Kovinic (30.9., 4 p.m., Novasports Start and LIVE from Sportish) at the 250-seat clay court tournament in Parma, which is expected to start around 4:00 p.m.
Sakkari and Konivic have met the world no. 78 2-1 three times in the past, most recently at the 2018 tournament in Shenzhen, where she prevailed 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
For Sakkari, this is the 21st semi-final of her career on the tour, with the Greek tennis player holding a record of 5-15, while having a great opportunity to reach the 3rd final this year after the two in Ag. Petersburg and California (Indian Wells), where he suffered just as many defeats against Annette Kontaveit and Iga Sfiodek.
In the other semi-final to follow (around 18:00 CET), Romanian and world No. 53 Ana Bogdan meets Egyptian (No. 74) Mayar Sherif.
