Auger-Aliassime will have only moved to Astana

Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime’s journey was shorter than expected at the Astana Open in Kazakhstan. Auger-Aliassime lost in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 to Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in his first match at the tournament.

Auger-Aliassime won a break of service in the match, to two for Bautista Agut.

Auger-Aliassime had won the last three duels between the two players, most recently in January 2022 at the ATP Cup.

In the next round of the round of 16 he will face the winner of Pavel Kotov’s duel with Alejandro Davidovic Fokina.

Russian Karen Khachanov moved from 18th to 17th place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.

The best among Russians remains Daniil Medvedev, located in 13th place, Andrei Rublev is 16th. There have been no changes in the top ten rankings: Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is in the lead, Italian Jannik Sinner is second, and German representative Alexander Zverev is in third.
