Winner in Tel Aviv of his third tournament of the year after Rome (Masters 1000) and Wimbledon, Djokovic remains 7e but scores 250 valuable points in the race for the ATP (ex-Masters) finals, his end-of-season goal.
The Serb can still earn points this week if he does as well in Astana, another ATP 250 tournament in which he participates.
The other superstar of the circuit, Rafael Nadal, is also one of the beneficiaries of this new classification: even without playing, the 36-year-old Mallorcan goes back to the 2e place (+1), thanks to the poor performance of Casper Ruud, eliminated in the quarter-finals in Seoul, where he was the No.1 seed.
