Tsitsipas – Koukouskin 2: 0: Stefanos easily reached the round of 16 of the Astana Open
As expected, Stefanos Tsitsipas effortlessly won 2-0 sets against Kukouskin to advance to the second round of the Astana Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas relaxed and completely in control, defeated Mikail Kukouskin 2-0 and qualified for the round of 16 of the Astana Open.
In the next round, Stefanos Tsitsipas meets the winner of the doubles between Alexander Shevchenko and Luka Nardi, then the hard times begin.
The match: In the first set, Stefanos Tsitsipas made almost everything perfect. He showed from the start that he wanted to have the upper hand in a fight. Try to stay close to the baseline and aim to attack head on.
That worked for him and he quickly went into the break and took a 3-0 lead. He then managed his lead perfectly and made it 6-3 to make it 1-0.
The second set was a different picture. Tsitsipas created easy break points again but couldn’t capitalize on them as Kukouskin had the answers to the critical points.
The two tennis players held their serve up to 3:3. There Tsitsipas managed to use the sixth break point he created to break.
Then both held for Tsitsipas to take the set 6-4 and win.
