Young Ukrainian tennis player wins her first adult level victory

17-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Ekaterina Lazarenko won the first match of the main draw of a professional tournament.

The Ukrainian is participating in a professional tournament for the first time. Lazarenko started her performances in qualifying, where she defeated Chiara Cvetkovic (Switzerland) 6:3, 6:4 and Angelina Graovac (Australia) 6:3, 6:2.

And yesterday, October 4, Ekaterina defeated the Chinese Yanni Liu in the first round of the main draw with the scores of 6:4, 1:6, 6:2 in three sets.

To reach the quarter-finals, Lazarenko will play against Caroline Romero from France in the 5th series of the tournament. The tournament is held in Monastir (Tunisia) under the auspices of the ITF.

It is worth noting that Kateryna Lazarenko is ranked 120th in the ITF Juniors ranking and is Ukraine’s third racket among juniors.
