“Mannarino is a player with original technique, it will be an interesting game” – Selivanenko about Rublev’s match in Astana

Vice-President of the Russian Tennis Federation Alexei Selivanenko shared his expectations from the upcoming match within the tournament in Astana between Russian Andrey Rublev and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, noting that he expects an interesting game.

The meeting will take place on October 7th.

– Last year, Andrei suffered a very painful defeat from Mannarino at the Kremlin Cup. Can there be revanchist sentiment tomorrow?

– The term “revanchist” is generally inapplicable to relations between tennis players. As for tomorrow’s game, then, of course, Andrei, like in any game, is determined to play to win. It is clear that there are players who are uncomfortable in terms of the style of play or the history of previous meetings. But the leading tennis players are different in that when they go out on the court, they forget about it and concentrate on the game now. Mannarino is a player with original technique, it will be an interesting game.

– Tennis players play all over the world, tournaments of this level are distinguished by an exceptionally high level of organization and attitude towards its participants.
