Serbian scientists have named a newly discovered species of beetle after tennis player Novak Djokovic.
The sportsman on a social network shared a photo of insects that belong to the genus of ground beetles Duvalius, living in Europe. Beetles were first discovered a few years ago deep underground in western Serbia.
Earlier in the Serbian press, scientists explained that they compared the new species with Djokovic because of his “speed, strength, flexibility, durability and ability to survive in difficult conditions.”
Djokovic has won 21 singles Grand Slam titles throughout his career. He holds the record for the most singles wins at the Masters Series tournaments (38).
