Alexei Selivanenko, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF), believes that it is important for Daniil Medvedev to play until the last ball in the semifinal match of the tournament in Astana against Serbian Novak Djokovic.
In the quarterfinals, the Russian defeated the Spaniard Roberto Bautista-Aguta (6:1, 6:1), Djokovic knocked out Karen Khachanov.
– Daniil chose a very competent tactic, taking into account his experience of their previous confrontations. He played all the time more in place, not allowing Roberto to play himself due to the strength of the opponent’s blows.
– Can you single out a favorite in the Djokovic-Medvedev match?
– In such pairs, it is hardly worth picking a favorite. Novak and Daniil know perfectly well all the nuances of each other’s game, I am sure that the match will delight tennis gourmets.
– What is most important in the game against Djokovic so that Medvedev can count on winning?
