Astana Open: Djokovic is in the semifinals

Novak Djokovic defeated Karen Khachanov 2-0 to reach the semi-finals of the Astana Open.

Novak Djokovic put on another outstanding performance, reaching the semifinals of the Astana Open, defeating world No. 18 Karen Khachanov with characteristic ease.

The 35-year-old Serb, who just won his ATP 250 title in Tel Aviv, clinched his 14th consecutive Tour win and awaits Daniil Medvedev’s duel with Roberto Bautista Agut to find out who he meets in Saturday’s semifinals (8th/10th) will compete.

After 89 minutes of play, Djokovic prevailed against Khachanov 6-4, 6-3won 35/45 points behind serve and ‘sealed’ his place in his 6th ATP semi-final of the season.

The Serb needed 3/5 break point opportunities to eliminate Khachanov, tallying up four service games in the first set!

It’s worth noting that Nole has won 14 straight sets since returning to Wimbledon and has yet to lose a set in a hard court tournament in the last two weeks.
