Tsitsipas: Test against Rublev with the prize of reaching the final of the Astana Open
Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Andrey Rublev (October 8th, 1 p.m.) with the prize of reaching the final of the Astana Open.
There are two big matches scheduled for the Astana Open on Saturday as they are included the two semi-finals in men’s singles.
The first match (08/10, 13.00, COSMOTIC SPORT 6) will this be between the Stefanos Tsitsipas (No. 6) and Andrei Rublev (No. 9).
This is the tenth time they have met, with Tsitsipas counting five wins and the Russian four. Of those encounters, four have been played on a hard indoor court (just like Astana) and both have won twice.
In the other semi-final of the day, a gigantic fight ensues between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. The former wants to continue his unbeaten streak and conquer Astana after the Tel Aviv title, while Medvedev is looking for a big win that will help him in his psychology.
This will be the eleventh meeting between the two tennis players with Djokovic having won six of them.
