Stefanos Tsitsipas made an incredibly mature performance despite being down on points, creating the upset, winning Rublev’s set 2-1 and qualifying for the final of the Astana Open. His opponent will be Djokovic.

A great performance came from Stefanos Tsitsipas who found himself a set down but managed to react and make a great comeback by beating Andrey Rublev 2-1.

The world No. 6 kept his cool even when things didn’t go his way and managed to find a way to win against his Russian opponent. In the final of the Astana Open, he meets Novak Djokovic, who advanced to the 13th final of his career after eliminating Medvedev.

The big duel between the two tennis players will not start before 1:30 p.m.

The match: The match started well for Rubble, who managed a break through his pressing and fast play and then held his serve to make it 2-0.

The Russian almost made it 3-0 but Tsitsipas responded and held. Then neither of them had any particular problems in their service game and so we reached the tenth game.

There, Rublev served to finish the set and Steph served to stay alive in the match. The 24-year-old Greek managed a double break point but the Russian persevered and managed to make it 1-0 6-4.

In the second set, the two tennis players held their serve without any particular problems. Rublev had the first break point in the third game but Tsitsipas erased it.

However, the same did not happen in the tenth game. Then Tsitsipas made a double break point, used the first and closed the second set 6: 4 to 1: 1.

In the third set, the two tennis players again held their serve relatively loosely, but again it was Stefanos Tsitsipas who got the decisive break at the right time.

Specifically, in the ninth game, the Greek tennis player managed to break his opponent’s serve and then hold his serve to claim a big win.

This was the first upset that happened in a match between Tsitsipas and Rublev, as in all previous matches, whoever won the first set won.

It’s also Stefanos Tsitsipas’ second consecutive win against a top 10 athlete in a matter of days, having preceded him in the quarterfinals against Hurkacs.
