Angelina KALININA: “Honestly, I thought I would withdraw from the match myself”
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina He commented on his victory in the 1/16 final of the WTA 250 series tournament in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), after the rejection of his rival Eugenie Bouchard:
“First of all, I want to thank the people who came to the game. To be honest, I didn’t expect to be able to finish it because I thought I would act myself. I didn’t feel very well. The game was very intense. Unfortunately I missed the whole of September due to illness and I was surprised that I was able to win the first set.
I will try to show my best tennis in the next match. I don’t have any expectations, I just enjoy being on the field. When you don’t play for too long, you start to miss tennis and you want to enjoy every game. Even though it was a very short game today, I was focused and I enjoyed it.”
Note that Angelina will be playing with Ysaline Bonaventure in the 1/8 finals.
