Tsitsipas – Djokovic 0-2: Nole is superior, wins title at Astana Open

Stefanos Tsitsipas hit back but couldn’t make it difficult for Novak Djokovic, who prevailed 2-0 in sets to win the Astana Open and celebrate his 90th title of his career.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ ATP 500 curse continued. Novak Djokovic prevailed 2-0 against the 24-year-old Greek and won the Astana Open. Tsitsipas thus reached the nine lost finals in ATP 500 tournaments.

On the other hand, after Tel Aviv, Novak Djokovic also won the tournament in Astana and achieved 90 titles in his career.

The match: Stefanos Tsitsipas came into play well. He was focused, had good options and held his serve loosely. In fact, he also tried to fill in Novak Djokovic’s holds, who recruited some impressive shots.

Everything was going well for the Greek tennis player until the eighth game. That’s where he basically made all his mistakes, he didn’t have a first serve and so Novak Djokovic had a double break point which he used to break Stefanos Tsitsipas’ serve.

Novak Djokovic then served at the end of the set and of course didn’t miss the chance to make it 1-0 6-3.

Early in the second set, Novak Djokovic showed he wanted to use the momentum he needed to break quickly and gain the upper hand. In the third game, the Serb had two break points but Tsitsipas was able to react and hold at love.

However, this did not happen in the fifth game. Nole, capitalizing on Tsitsipas’ mistakes, managed to take a 0-40 lead and then broke the Greek tennis player’s serve. Then he held his serve to make it 4:2.

From there, Novak Djokovic just held serve and managed to claim the win and the title.
