Russian tennis players will perform at the Australian Open in a neutral status
The head of the Australian Tennis Federation Craig Tiley said that Russian and Belarusian athletes will be able to play at the Australian Open in a neutral status.
The Australian Open will take place from 16 to 29 January.
– Russian and Belarusian athletes have the right to play at the Australian Open without a flag and an anthem. They should act as neutral athletes, — quotes the words of Tiley France 24.
Earlier, the organizers of Wimbledon did not allow the Russians and Belarusians to perform even in a neutral status. The decision was met with disapproval by the ATP and WTA, which eventually stripped Wimbledon of ranking points.
