Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok qualified Final WTA Tournament in pairs. The competitions will be held from October 31 to November 7 in Fort Worth (USA).

Ukrainian Alena Ostapenko (Latvia) will play in the WTA Finals for the first time. This season, the Ukrainian-Latvian duo won the WTA 250 titles in Birmingham and the WTA 1000 titles in Cincinnati, and also played in the finals of the WTA 500 tournaments in Dubai and Eastbourne. Together, the tennis players played in the semifinals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and last month they took their first place in the top 10 doubles world rankings – Lyudmila was in ninth place and Alena in seventh place.

In the history of independent Ukraine, only Elina Svitolina (singles) performed at the WTA Finals: in 2017, the Ukrainian woman left the competition after the group stage, became the champion the following season and reached the final a year later.

Participation in Fort Worth was also guaranteed by the couples Kreychikova / Sinyakova (Czech Republic), Dabrowski / Olmos (Canada / Mexico) and Mertens / Kudermetova (Belgium / Russia).
