Tsitsipas – Ivaska 2: 0: Stefanos leads in the quarterfinals of the Rotterdam Open

Stefanos Tsitsipas found resistance until the middle of the first set, stepping on the gas and beating Belarusian Ilias Ivaska 2-0 to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Rotterdam Open. Against De Minor in the next round.

His place in the quarterfinals of the Rotterdam Open was closed by Stefanos Tsitsipas (No.4), who edged Belarusian Ilia Ivaska (No.48) in a 2-0 set (6-4, 6-1). The Greek dominated from the middle of the first set and then where a break was enough to get the confidence he wanted and not look back.

Ivaska struggled against Tsitsipas but the difference in capacity was evident and the Greek was the one to dominate the second set (leading 5-0 in the games) and finishing the match 6-1. In the quarterfinals in the Netherlands he meets Alex De Minor (No. 34).

The race

Tsitsipas showed his teeth early in the first set against Ivaska. He made it very difficult for his opponent with his very strong serve and threatened him with several breaks early on. The Belarusian withstood the pressure from the Greek, but Stefanos stepped on the gas when he had to, ending the first set with a break on Ivaska’s serve (6-4).

With a lead from the opener, Stefanos dominated early in the second, earning an early break on Ivaska’s serve and leading the games 3-0. The Belarusian easily made mistakes and put pressure on the Greek, who of course took advantage of them. Ivaska only managed one game in the second set, qualifying went to the Greeks.
